LALMONIRHAT: Police arrested local leader of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL), the student wing of Awami League, with ten pieces of Yaba tablets in Lalmonirhat early Sunday (February 26).

The detainee is Shakil Ahmed, 26, BCL president of ward-8 under Patgram municipality of Lalmonirhat.

Tipped-off, police raided the Burimari check post area and detained Shakil with Yaba tablets, Patgram police station assistant sub inspector (ASI) Mofizar Rahman Maznu. 

Shakil was accused in a case filed under narcotics control act, said Patgram police station officer in charge (OC) Abani Shankar Roy.
