SIRAJGANJ: A Sirajganj court on Tuesday (February 28) placed Shahjadpur Municipality Mayor Halimul Haque Miru and his brother Habibul Huq on a two-day remand in journalist Abdul Hakim Shimul murder case.

The court of Shahjadpur Upazila Senior Judicial Magistrate Nazrul Islam passed the order around 10:45am.

Shahajadpur police station Officer-In-charge (OC, investigation) Monirul Islam confirmed the matter to Banglanews.

Earlier on Monday (February 13), the court placed six accused, including Shahjadpur Municipality Mayor Halimul Haque Miru, on a five-day remand.

Earlier on February 2, Dainik Samakal’s Shahzadpur correspondent Abdul Hakim Shimul sustained gunshot during covering infighting of ruling Awami League in the area. Later, he died on way to Dhaka on February 3.
