BNP leader Bulu among 35 face arrest warrant

DHAKA: A Dhaka court has issued arrest warrants against 35 leaders and activists of the BNP including the party’s joint secretary general Barkatullah Bulu in a case filed under explosive act.

Dhaka Metropolitan Session Judge Kamrul Hossain Mollah passed the order on Thursday (March 02) after accepting charges against them in the case.

Additional Public Prosecutor (APP) of the concerned court Tapash Pal confirmed the matter to Banglanews. 

He said that the court issued the arrest warrant, as the accused are now fugitives in the case No. 40 (1) 15 of Paltan police station.  

According to the APP, the other warrantees include BNP chairperson’s press secretary Maruf Kamal Khan Sohel, chairperson’s special assistant Shamsur Rahman Shimul Biswas, general secretary of Mahila Dal Shirin Sultana, Mir Sharafat Ali Safu and former student leader Azizul Bari Helal, among others.
