HABIGANJ: Mayor of Habiganj municipality GK Gaus has been suspended again within eleven days after he had taken charge.

The local government ministry’s suspension order reached the office of deputy commissioner (DC) of Habiganj on Sunday afternoon (April 02).  

Deputy director of Habiganj local government division Shafiul Alam confirmed the matter to Banglanews.

GK Gaus was removed again as he was an accused in a case filed for bomb attack at the rally of late Awami League leader Suranjit Sengupta.

GK Gaus was in the jail in a case that was filed for killing of former finance minister and Awami League leader SAMS Kibria and five others in a grenade attack in Habiganj in 2005.

GK Gaus took the charge of mayor again on March 23 after he was released on bail.
