SATKHIRA: Police claimed to have arrested at least 65 people, including seven leaders and workers of the Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, in Satkhira district.
Police inspector of special branch (SB) of Satkhira Mizanur Rahman said that police arrested the people in an overnight special drive conducted in the district from Wednesday evening to early Thursday (April 06).
Among the detainees, 22 were detained from sadar upazila, while ten from Kalaroa, seven from Kaliganj, six from Tala, three from Debhata, seven from Shyamnagar, seven from Ashashuni and two from Patkelghata.
The arrestees are accused in various cases including sabotage cases.
