DHAKA: Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) Chairperson Khaleda Zia expressed no-confidence to the newly appointed judge in handling the judicial process of Zia charitable trust graft case filed by the Anti Corruption Commission (ACC).
Khaleda’s lawyer Barrister Jamiruddin Sircar informed the press about her no-confidence on Judge Kamrul Hossain Molla of the special court at Bakshibazar in Dhaka.
Jamiruddin said to reporters, “The judge was the director of Anti-Corruption Commission when charges were framed in the case. Therefore, we think that Khaleda Zia would not get justice here.
When petition was filed in this regard, the judge rejected it and asked to go higher court.”
However, hearing in the case has been adjourned till April 27.
On August 8, 2011, the ACC filed the Zia Charitable Trust graft case with Tejgaon Police Station accusing four people, including Khaleda Zia, of abusing power in raising funds for the trust from unknown sources.
