DHAKA: Awami League presidium member and health and family welfare minister Mohammed Nasim has said that the next elections will be held under Sheikh Hasina.
Addressing a meeting on Wednesday (April 19), the spokesperson of the Awami League-led 14-party alliance said that Sheikh Hasina will remain chief in the election-time government.
“Whether BNP will take part in the polls or not, it is not matter. The next elections will be held under Sheikh Haisna as per the Constitution even after BNP’s absence,” he said.
Jatiya Samatantrik Dal (JSD), a partner of the 14-party alliance, arranged the discussion meeting at the National Press Club in the city.
JSD president and information minister Hasanul Haq Inu presided over the meeting, while the party’s general secretary Shirin Akhter, general secretary of Samyabadi Dal and former minister Dilip Barua and general secretary of Jatiya Party (JP) Sheikh Shahidul Islam also spoke it, among others.
