CHITTAGONG: Awami League General Secretary and Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader on Saturday (April 22) criticized the role of his party’s rebel leaders.

He said that some leaders inside the ruling Awami League are betraying with the party through provoking rebellion.   

He was addressing the delegate conference of Chittagong north district unit of the Awami League.

Obaidul Quader said that some people do the politics of Awami League, but work against the party’s symbol ‘boat’.

He said that Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has the report of the rebels and the persons behind the rebellion. She will take action in time, he added.    

He asked the leaders and workers of his party not to criticize the party men. “Resolve the little differences through holding talks domestically. Please shun the path of internal clash and murder,” requested the AL General Secretary.  

He warned that those who are involved with the activities that tarnish the image of the party, they won’t get nomination in the newt elections.

Vice president of the Chittagong north district Awami League and the party MP ABM Fazle Karim Chowdhury presided over the function, while AL presidium member Engineer Mosharraf Hossain, central joint-general secretary Mahbul Alam Hanif, central publicity and publication secretary Dr Hasan Mahmud, organizing secretary Enamul Haque Shamim, Mahfuzur Rahman Mita MP and Didarul Alam MP also attended it, among others.
