AL leader found dead at Cox’s Bazar hotel

COX’S BAZAR: Police recovered the hanging body of an Awami League leader from a hotel room in Cox’s Bazar on Sunday afternoon (April 30).

The deceased Mohammad Ismail, 50, son of Golam Rasul Molla, hailed from Naikhyangchari upazila in Bandarban. He was the vice-president of Awami League upazila unit.

Cox’s Bazar sadar thana officer-in-charge (OC) Kamrul Azam said the body was recovered from room- 107 in hotel Palanquir around 3:30 pm. 

The hotel manager and room boy were detained for inquiry. The body was sent to Cox’s Bazar sadar hospital for autopsy, he added.
