DHAKA: Members of Rapid action battalion (Rab) detained a member of banned militant outfit Hizb ut Tahrir from Dhaka on Wednesday night (May 2).

The detained was identified as M Tomal Uddin.

Rab-2 Operations officer Feroz Kawsar told Banglanews that Tomal Uddin, a warrant accused, was arrested from Adabor area in a drive around 9 pm Tuesday.

Firoz Kawsar further said that Tomal used to work for recruiting members in the organization besides spreading propaganda as part of organizational work.
