Removal of CJ, Greek idol demanded Awami Olama League at a human chain in front of National Press Club demands removal of Chief Justice and Greek idol

DHAKA: Awami Olama League has demanded removal of Chief Justice SK Sinha and Greek idol erected on the Supreme Court premises before the upcoming Ramzan.

Leaders of the associate body of the ruling Awami League made the demand at a human chain in front of the National Press Club in the city on Saturday (May 06).

Leaders of the Awami Olama League also warned that the Muslims will boycott the Eid congregation at the National Eidgah if the demand is not met.

They questioned the motive of the Chief Justice as he is not taking initiative to remove the sculpture of Lady Justice Themis even after desire of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

They also opposed the revise in the school textbooks following the demand Hefaza-e-Islam.

The Awami Olama League leaders praised the prime minister for taking project of construction of 560 model mosques across the country.

President of the organization Maulana Mohammad Akhtar Hossain Bukhari presided over the human chain, while Maulana Mohammad Abul Hasan Sheikh Shariatpuri and general secretary of the organization Malana Abdus Sattar also addressed it, among others.
