DHAKA: The Election Commission (EC) will finalize the roadmap for the 11th Parliamentary elections on May 23.

EC Secretary Mohammad Abdullah said this while talking to the journalists at his office at the EC’s Secretariat at Agargaon in the city on Sunday noon (May 14).

Mohammad Abdullah said that the commission in its meeting has discussed the issue of the next Parliamentary elections. The final decision in this regard will be taken in the meeting of May 23.  A roadmap for the next polls will be taken on that day, he added.

Replying to a question over the use of electronic voting machine (EVM) system in the next polls, the EC Secretary said that it is not the right time to say whether the EVM system will be used in the next polls. It will take more time as the EVM system must be examined before introducing in the polls, he added.
