DHAKA: Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) is set to stage countrywide demonstrations Sunday (May 21), to protest the police search at BNP chairperson’s Gulshan office on Saturday (May 20).

Terming the police search ‘based on false allegation’, BNP Senior joint secretary general Ruhul Kabir Rizvi came up with the announcement while addressing a program at Dhaka Reporters’ Unity.

BNP Standing committee member Barrister Moudud Ahmed also attended the program.

Earlier at 7:30 am, a team of Gulshan thana police started a search for almost two hours at BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia’s Gulshan office to investigate if there was any evidence or documents of treachery, following a court direction.
