DHAKA: BNP standing committee member Dr Khandaker Mosharraf Hossain has said that the BNP will come to the power if the next Parliamentary elections are held in free and fair atmosphere.
The BNP senior leader made the comment while speaking at a discussion meeting at the National Press Club in the city on Saturday (June 17).
National Youth Forum, a pro-BNP organization, arranged the discussion to mark the ‘Black Day of Newspapers’.
BNP joint secretary general Syed Moazzem Hossain Alal and the party’s central committee member and president of Swadhinata Forum Abu Naser Mohammad Rahmatullah also spoke on the occasion with president of the forum Mohammad Saidur Rahman in the chair.
Dr Mosharraf said that BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia has placed a formula for holding the next general elections under an election-time supportive government. The next elections will be free and fair if these are held according to the proposal of the BNP chief, he added.
