DHAKA: The leaders and activists of the BNP on Sunday (June 18) immediately staged demonstration in different parts of the country protesting attack on the motorcade of their party’s secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir.

In Narayanganj, Jatiyatabadi Juba Dal, the youth body of the party, brought out a procession in the city wearing black badge on the faces.  

Led by Narayanganj city unit convener of the Juba Dal Maksudul Alam, the procession was brought out from in front of Chashara Press Club. A rally was held following the procession.

In Bogra, the BNP men arranged a rally in front of the party’s office at Nababbari Road in the district town at noon.

Speaking at the rally, district BNP president VP Saiful Islam said that the Awami League men carried out the attack on the BNP leader.

Jatiyatabadi Sechchhasebok Dal, a front body of the BNP, formed a human chain in the district town demanding arrest and trial of the attackers.

Earlier in the day, miscreants attacked on the motorcade of Mirza Fakhrul and vandalized at least five vehicles at Rangunia upazila of Chittagong district.

Mirza Fakhrul, who was leading a five-member delegation of the party on way to Rangamati to visit landslides affected people, was hurt during the attack.
