BRAHMANBARIA: Police arrested a Union Parishad (UP) chairman of Krishnanagar in Nabinagar upazila of Brahmanbaria and also Union Awami League President Zillur Rahman in a case filed over attack on police.
He was arrested around 10:00am Thursday (June 29) from his village home at Asrabpur village of the upazila.
Nabinagar police station officer-in-charge (OC) Aslam Shikdar told Banglanews that the followers of Zillur Rahman and Union AL vice-president Kawsar Molla clashed on June 26 following a long standing dispute that instigated during last UP polls.
During the clash, rioters also attacked police members who were trying to foil the mayhem. Police filed a case accusing Zillur Rahman, Kawsar and 28 others over the incident.
