DHAKA: Road transport and bridges minister Obaidul Quader has said that the Election Commission (EC) will deploy the army as striking force seven days before the general elections.

He said this at a post-Eid-ul-Fitr meeting organized at the conference room of the road transport and bridges ministry in Bangladesh Secretariat on Sunday (July 2).

Obaidul Quader, also general secretary of the ruling Awami League, further said that money trafficking allegation against Tarique Rahman was proved in the court of home as well as abroad.

No allegations of money trafficking against Awami League leaders were proved yet, he said.
