DHAKA: A Dhaka court on Sunday (July 2) ordered to send BNP leader and Begum Khaleda Zia’s advisor Joynal Abedin Faruk to jail, in four separate sabotage cases filed against him.
Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (CMM) Court-Dhaka Nur Nahar Yasmin passed the order after rejecting bail pleas filed by Faruk.
Earlier, Faruk surrendered before the court in the morning and pleaded bail.
Advocate Sanaullah Mia moved for him at the court.
Faruk pleaded for bail in six separate cases filed with Paltan Police Station in connection with sabotage activities.
He was granted bail in two cases while rejected in four others.
The cases were filed on charge of carrying out sabotage activities during the countrywide hartal-blockade enforced by BNP in 2015.
