DHAKA: Civil Aviation and Tourism Minister Rashed Khan Menon has sharply reacted to the verdict of the Appellate Division of the Supreme Court that upheld the decision of the High Court on 16th amendment to the Constitution.

Menon in his reaction on Monday (July 03) commented that the court can’t deliver such verdict. The Parliament is a sovereign institution and the court can’t go against the sovereign Parliament’s decision, he said.

Menon, also chairman of Workers Party of Bangladesh, expressed his reaction after the Cabinet meeting and just after the pronouncement of the apex court’s verdict on the issue.

He said that the issue will be discussed in the Parliament again.

Earlier, Attorney General Mahbubey Alam also expressed dissatisfaction over the verdict.
