GAZIPUR: A team of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB-1) in a drive detained three active members of banned extremist outfit Jamaatul Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB) from a house in Nandail area under Joydebpur thana in Gazipur.

The detainees are- Mohammad Azizul Hakim, 34, Mohammad Hasan Ali, 36 and Mohammad Kamrul Hasan, 42. 

In a press note released on Wednesday afternoon (July 5), RAB-1 disclosed that, on information, RAB members conducted a raid in Azizul’s house while the trio was attending a secret meeting.

They had been recruiting people for JMB and collecting subscription using the cover of hawkers in the area. Some Jihadi and seditious books were also seized from their possession, said the press note.
