JHENAIDAH: Police in a special drive detained 43 people, including activists of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, from several areas in Jhenaidah.

The drive was conducted from Wednesday night (July 05) to Thursday morning (July 06) in six upazilas of the district.
 
Additional superintendent of police (ASP) of Jhenaidah Azharbar Ali Sheikh told Banglanews that anti-terrorism and anti-sabotage drives were being conducted.

As part of this, 24 people were detained from Jhenaidah Sadar, three from Harinakunda, three from Shailakupa, eight from Kaliganj, three from Maheshpur and two Jamaat activists were detained from Kotchandpur.

The detainees are accused in several cases filed with different police stations.
