DHAKA: Inspector General of Bangladesh Police (IGP) AKM Shahidul Huq said the copy of arrest warrant issued against BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia has not reached the police station concerned till Tuesday (Oct 17).

He made the remark to reporters after attending a orientation program at Shaheed Police Smrity College in city’s Mirpur-14 area on Tuesday afternoon.

IGP said, “I have heard news from the media concerning the arrest warrant issued against Khaleda Zia. However, it has not reached to police station.”

He further said this is not such a matter where police will be sent to arrest Khaleda Zia from home just because warrant has been issued. Khaleda Zia is a respected person and it is a matter of the court.
