BOGRA: 250 BNP leaders and activists were sued on charge of obstruction and assault on police work at Gabtoli upazila in Bogra.

Among the accused, around 50 persons were identified while the rests remain unidentified in the case.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) Khairul Bashar of Gabtali Model Police Station confirmed the matter to Banglanews at around 1:30 pm on Thursday (October 19).

Earlier, on Wednesday night (October 18), BNP supporters had clash with police over processions and rallies brought out following BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia’s arrival in Bangladesh.

Later, police, being the plaintiff, filed the case against those BNP leaders and activists. 

Meanwhile, police arrested the prime accused of the case BNP general secretary and Upazila Parishad chairman Morshed Milton.

The raid continues to arrest the rest accused, the OC added.
