DHAKA: Visiting India External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj is expected to sit in a meeting with BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia at Sonargaon hotel in Dhaka Sunday (October 22), the day she arrived here.
Khaleda Zia’s Press wing officer Shamsuddin Didar told Banglanews that the meeting is scheduled to hold at 08:00pm.
The meeting will discuss current political situation apart from some Bangladesh-India bilateral matters, he said.
The delegation will include BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, Standing Committee members Abdul Moin Khan, Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury, Khaleda Zia’s advisers Riaz Rahman and Sabihuddin Ahmed, said the party sources.
Meanwhile, Sushma Swaraj has arrived in Dhaka on a 2-day state visit to attend a session of India-Bangladesh Joint Consultant Commission (JCC) here.
The JCC session will be held at Pan Pacific Sonargaon hotel at 04:30pm Sunday.
Bangladesh Foreign Affairs Minister AH Mahmood Ali and Sushma Swaraj will lead the discussion.
Sushma will inaugurate the new Chancery building at Indian High Commission in Baridhara, on Monday morning (October 23).
She is expected to inaugurate 15 development projects here, funded by her country.
However, she will leave Dhaka for home Monday, said India embassy sources.
