EC holds talks with women leaders

DHAKA: The Election Commission (EC) held talks with the women leaders of the country on Monday (October 23) to discuss the 11th Parliamentary elections.  

The talks began at about 11:00 am at the EC Secretariat building in the city with Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) KM Nurul Huda in the chair. The other commissioners were also present at the time.

The EC invited 22 women leaders in the talks. Among them, 13 women leaders took part in the dialogue. They are- Rokeya Kabir, Maleka Banu, Rekha Chowdhury, Aroma Dattya, Fatema Akhter, Nasrin Begum, Farida Yeasmin, Parvin Sultana Jhuma, Mahbuba Begum, Rehana Siddique, Mashuda Khatun Shefali, and Mansura Akhter.  

KM Nurul Huda in his presidential speech said that that the commission will appreciate the opinions of the women to hold the next general elections.
