BNP leader MK Anwar passes away

DHAKA: BNP Standing committee member also former minister MK Anwar died at his residence in Dhaka’s Elephant Road early Tuesday (October 24).

He was 84.

He was suffering from various old age complications for a prolonged period.

The veteran BNP leader breathed his last at 01:40am, said BNP Chairperson’s media wing member Sayrul Kabir Khan.
 
Anwar was born in Homna of Comilla in January 1, 1933.

He retired from the government service in 1990 after discharging the duty of the Cabinet Secretary.

He joined BNP in 1991.  

BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia and Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir have expressed profound shock at the death of Anwar.
