DHAKA: BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia will go to Cox’s Bazar Sunday (October 29) to see the situation of Rohingyas who have taken shelter at the refugee camps after fleeing violence in Myanmar.

The decision was made at a meeting of BNP Standing committee at the BNP chief’s Gulshan political office Monday night (October 23), said the party sources.

The meeting continued from 08:50pm to around 10:30pm.

It was the first meeting since the BNP’s chief’s return to home on October 18, after visiting United Kingdom for almost three months.

BNP Standing committee members Dr Khondker Mosharraf Hossain, Barrister Moudud Ahmed, Jamir Uddin Sircar, Toriqul Islam, Lt Gen (retd) Mahbubur Rahman, Rafiqul Islam Miah, Mirza Abbas, Goyeshwar Chandra Roy, Dr Abdul Moin Khan, Nazrul Islam Khan, Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury and Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir were present at the meeting chaired by Khaleda Zia. 

However, Khaleda will leave Dhaka for Chittagong Saturday (October 28).

She will go to Cox’s Bazar the next morning.
