BNP leader MK Anwar’s burial Wednesday

DHAKA: BNP Standing Committee Member MK Anwar’s body will be taken his village home in Homna upazila of Comilla on Wednesday (Oct 24) for burial after two more namaj-e-janazas to be held there.
 
The first namaj-e-janaza of the BNP leader was held at Kataban Mosque in the capital around 10:00am and the second janaza held around 12noon at BNP’s Nayapaltan headquarters. 

The third one held around 1:30pm at the South Plaza of the Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban.

His fourth namaj-e-janaza will be held in Titas upazila of Comilla after Zohr prayers and the last one in Homna upazila after Asar prayers.

He will be buried in his family graveyard.

BNP Standing Committee Member MK Anwar passed away at his residence in Dhaka early Tuesday (Oct 24). 

He was 86.

He was suffering from various old age complications for a prolonged period.

The veteran BNP leader breathed his last at 01:40am, said BNP Chairperson’s media wing member Sayrul Kabir Khan.
 
Anwar was born in Homna of Comilla in January 1, 1933. He retired from the government service in 1990 after discharging the duty of the Cabinet Secretary.
He joined BNP in 1991. 
 
BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia and Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir have expressed profound shock at the death of Anwar.
