JESSORE: A district court sentenced former Member of Parliament (MP) of Jhenidah-1 (Shailkupa) Abdul Ohab to eight years of imprisonment in a case filed by Anti Corruption Commission (ACC) for embezzlement of illegal wealth.

Abdul Ohab, also, the central member and Shailkupa Upazila president of BNP, was fined Tk 45,000, in default nine more years of imprisonment.

In addition, his properties worth Tk 93,00,369 were confiscated by the government.
 
Judge of Jessore Special Court Nitai Chandra delivered the verdict at 11:30 am on Monday (October 30).

Police Inspector of Jessore Court Rezaul Islam confirmed that the matter to Banglanews.
