NARAYANGANJ: A Narayanganj court has framed charges against 39 BNP leaders in a case filed with Siddhirganj Police Station over clash with police during Hefazat-e-Islam’s May 5 Shapla Chhattar rally in 2013.

Chief Judicial Magistrate in Narayanganj Shahidul Alam framed the charge on Tuesday (October 31).

The court fixed January 04 next year as the date of the case’s trial proceedings.  

BNP chairperson’s adviser Taimur Alam Khandaker, former BNP MP Gias Uddin, district BNP president Kazi Moniruzzaman, general secretary Mamun Mahmud, city BNP general secretary ATM Kamal and councilor of Narayanganj City Corporation Ikbal Hossain are among the BNP leaders, who were indicted the case.
