DINAJPUR: The government has suspended Md Nure Alam, chairman of Nawabganj Upazila Parishad in Dinajpur, saying that the court accepted charges against him in explosive case.

The local government division of the LGRD Ministry issued circular in this regard.

Signed by deputy secretary (Upazila-1) of the LGRD Ministry Dr Julia Moyeen, the circular was said that the Jamaat-backed upazila chairman was suspended as he was accused in the different cases and already indicted in some of the cases.

Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) of Nawabganj Md Moshiur Rahman on Tuesday (October 31) said that he heard about the suspension order, but the government order did not reach Nawabganj Upazila till now.

The case against Md Nure Alam was filed during the anti-government movement in 2013.
