DHAKA: Awami League general secretary Obaidul Quader said there will not be any kind of reconciliation efforts with BNP ahead of the 11th parliamentary election.
Quader, also the Road Transport and Bridges minister, made the assertion while addressing as chief guest in a discussion titled ‘AL’s 11-point proposal to EC, people’s proposal’ at Engineering Institute in Dhaka on Thursday (Nov 2).
He said BNP has shut the door for reconciliation. The Fenni incident, where BNP chief Khaleda Zia’a motorcade came under attack twice, is a pre-planned and provocative act by BNP. It was an act for promoting conflict.
Quader also said, “We want BNP to participate in polls. We don’t want to win without a contest. We also want the Election Commission to act fair towards BNP or AL. We want a free and fair election.”
