DHAKA: Urging party leaders-activists to prepare for the national election, BNP standing committee member Barrister Moudud Ahmed said BNP will participate in the election despite any unforeseen situations and government will be compelled to compromise.
He made the remarks at a discussion titled ‘Attack on Khaleda’s motorcade, harassment in false cases and future of Bangladesh's democracy’ organized by Shadhinota Forum at the VIP lounge of National Press Club on Friday noon (Nov 3).
Moudud said there won’t be any polls to hold if BNP don’t participate in it. But we will certainly attend the polls and will see whether the government comes in talks table or not.
Condemning the attacks on BNP chairperson Khaleda’s motorcade, he said we all know who carried out the attacks. Awami League backed terrorists committed it. These attacks prove that AL is a party of terrorists.
Earlier Khaleda’s motorcade including media vehicles came under attack twice in Feni. Moudud claimed that attack on the media vehicles of Khaleda’s motorcade was intentional and pre-planned.
He also warned that such attacks will not scare off BNP from movement. In Future more movements is about to come.
BNP Vice Chairman Shawkat Mahmud, BNP joint secretary general Barrister Mahbub Uddin Khokan, Senior Joint Secretary General of LDP Shahadat Hossain Selim among others were also present at the meeting presided by Shadhinota Forum President Abu Nasser Rahmatullah.
