BNP’s dream of mass-movement sent to museum: Quader Awami League general secretary Obaidul Quader among other AL leaders in Cox's Bazar

FROM COX’S BAZAR: Awami League general secretary Obaidul Quader said the Sheikh Hasina government has pleased countrymen with development works and sent BNP’s fantasy of mass upsurge to a museum of history.

Quader, also the Road Transport and Bridges Minister, made the remark while addressing as chief guest at a program for recruit and renewal of AL members in Cox’s Bazar on Monday (Nov 6).

He said, “However, it would be a mistake to think that BNP is weak in public support. They are strong opponent. AL lost the election in 1991 for undermining its opponent. We have to remember that all forces against AL will vote for BNP.”

About the recruitment, Quader said, “Our main focus is to recruit young voters and women. They will be the tool of AL’s victory. So it is vital part for the party’s future. However, any one with a police record of extortion, terrorism, land grabbing or anti-liberation fundamentalist will not get a place in AL.”

Joint general secretary Mahbubul Alam Hanif, joint general secretary Jahangir Kabir Nanak, central organizing secretary AFM Bahauddin Nasim, district Awami League general secretary Mujibur Rahman, among others also spoke on the occasion.
