DHAKA:  US Under Secretary of State for Political Affairs Thomas A Shannon's meeting with BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia's has been productive, said party secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir.

He made the remark to reporters after the meeting ended on Monday noon (Nov 6).

Earlier around 10:45am, a six-member US delegation led by Shannon met with BNP chief Khaleda Zia at her Gulshan office. 

Fakhrul said the US delegation talked about the on-going Rohingya crisis with Khaleda Zia. Moreover, the political situation of the country was also discussed. 

On Sunday (Nov 5), Thomas A Shannon had arrived in Dhaka on a two-day official visit. Aside form participating in the US-Bangladesh Partnership Dialogue; he will also meet with political leaders and NGO officials.
