DHAKA: BNP secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir said the government will hopefully give all-out cooperation for organizing the party rally on Saturday (November 12), marking 'National Revolution and Solidarity Day'.
He made the expectation at a press briefing after attending a joint meeting at BNP central party office in Nayapaltan Wednesday (November 8).
“Party chairperson Khaleda Zia will present at the Saturday’s rally in Suhrawardy Udyan. The meeting took place today on the preparations to make the rally peaceful”, he said.
“The government always say that they don’t obstruct any democratic program. Moreover, a leader of the ruling party said yesterday that they don’t have any objection in such programs. We hope that their words will be fruitful; the government will cooperate for arranging the rally.”
“We expect that the government will permit us in appropriate time, to hold the Nov 12 rally, and cooperate us to hold it which is a democratic rights”, Fakhrul added further.
BNP Vice Chairman Shamsuzzman Dudu, Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi, Joint Secretary General Harun-ur-Rashid Harun and Khairul Kabir Khokon were among others present at the briefing.
