DHAKA: Awami League general secretary Obaidul Quader said the way opposition party BNP blocked roads in name of rally gives an insight that the country will collapse once they grab power.

Quader, also Road Transport and Bridges minister, made the remark to reporters after the 25th National Road Safety Council in city’s Ramna area on Sunday (Nov 12).

He said, “I have attended a much bigger rally Cox’s Bazar than BNP Chief Khaleda Zia is doing now and there were no public sufferings. BNP has exceeded their tolerance levels.”

BNP has called a rally at Suhrawardy Udyan on Nov 12. The rally caused traffic chaos most parts of Dhaka. Originally the rally was scheduled to be held on Nov 7 to mark the National Revolution and Solidarity Day. However, it was rescheduled on Nov 12 as BNP did not get government permission.
