NARAYANGANJ: Chief Election Commissioner KM Nurul Huda said smartcard, which contains picture and identity of a person, will guarantee a fair election as no one can cast a single vote without it. 

He made the assertion while addressing as chief guest in the inaugural program of smartcard distribution among voters at Narayanganj club on Sunday noon (Nov 26).

Nurul Huda said every citizen with a smartcard will receive 26-27 services. Casting votes with absolute certainty is one of the services. No one will get a chance to cast a fake vote as smartcards will contain pictures and identity information of a person.

CEC also said smartcard will also play a major role in combating terrorism. Previously militants and terrorists were identified using mobile SIM cards but from now on smartcards will have all the information about a person. The main point is that no one will be able to get away with any sorts of wrongdoing because of smartcards.
