DHAKA: Awami League general secretary Obaidul Quader said as the BNP is doing politics with arms, their politics is not for democracy indeed.

He said, “We witnessed the body of democracy inside the election coffin during BNP regimes.”

Obaidul Quader, also, the Road Transport and Bridges Minister made the remark while addressing a discussion on the occasion of 27th martyrdom anniversary of Dr. Shamsul Alam Khan Milon held at the premises of Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH) on Monday (November 27).

Dr. Shamsul Alam Khan was martyred for his stance in the anti-autocratic movement during the decade of 90s.

MP Obaidul Quader said that BNP’s politics is now on the verge of a deep ditch. After failing in all sectors, they are now speaking in the language of weapons. Khaleda Zia has now switched from field politics to politics of weapons.

Addressing to Khaleda Zia, the Awami League leader asked her,” How did CPC conference take place when democracy was absent?”

After reminiscing Dr. Milon, Quader regarded him as an embodiment of student politics.

Following discussion, he laid a wreath at Dr. Milon’s grave.

Bangladesh Medical Association president Dr. Mostafa Jalal Mohiuddin presided over the discussion.
