DHAKA: Awami League General Secretary also Minister for Road Transport and Bridges Obaidul Quader said that the process is underway to bring back soon the fugitive killers of Bangabandhu and the intellectuals from abroad.
Quader was talking to the reporters after placing floral wreaths at the Martyred Intellectuals Memorial in Mirpur, commemorating the martyred intellectuals of 1971, marking National Intellectual Day Thursday (December 14).
“The government is now on the gateway to recapture them (the accused) after solving all the complexities in the process”, he said.
Earlier, President Abdul Hamid and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s Military Secretary major general Mia Mohammad Zainul Abedin paid profound respect to the glorious sons of the country on the occasion. The premier is currently in Paris, to attend One Planet Summit.
Afterwards, the cemetery was made open to the public.
Leaders and activists of Awami League and its associated bodies, Jatiya Party and other socio-cultural fronts paid tribute to the intellectuals by placing floral wreaths at the memorial.
