DHAKA: BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi said that the government is hatching conspiracy to keep the BNP-nominated mayoral candidate away from the Rangpur City Corporation (RCC) polls.

Rizvi made the remark while addressing the birthday party of former Dhaka University (DU) Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Emajuddin Ahmed, at the latter’s residence in Dhaka’s Elephant Road Friday (December 15).

“The Election Commission (EC) doesn’t take any action while the ruling party-nominated candidate breaches the electoral code of conduct.  The EC is nonchalant regarding this”, he alleged.

BNP Standing committee member Barrister Jamiruddin Sircar and Joint Secretary General Moazzem Hossain Alal were among others present there.
