Khaleda’s notice to be dealt legally: Law Minister

DHAKA: Law Minister Advocate Anisul Huq has said that BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia’s legal notice, which demanded apology from Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina for her remarks about the BNP chief, will be dealt legally.

The minister said this while talking to journalists after joining the 15th session of Child Parliament, a platform for adolescent children from every corner of Bangladesh, at LGED auditorium at Agargoan in the city on Thursday (December 21).

Khaleda Zia recently issued the legal notice to Sheikh Hasina alleging disparaging remarks made earlier in December. The notice demands an unconditional apology from Sheikh Hasina within 30 days for her remarks on Khaleda Zia’s assets in foreign countries, including Saudi Arabia. Otherwise, compensation will be sought through legal means.

Earlier on Wednesday (December 20), senior Awami League leaders at a press conference came down heavily on Khaleda Zia for sending the legal notice. They said that they will take decision after getting the notice.

The minister said that they have not got the legal notice till now. After receiving the copy of notice, they will discuss it. They will reply legally. ‘Legal notice is a legal process. We will also reply in legal way,” he said.
