DHAKA: President of Bikalpa Dhara Bangladesh and also chairman of political alliance 'Jukta Front' Dr AQM Badruddoza Chowdhury said the outcome of the Rangpur City Corporation elections proves that the ruling Awami League and main opposition BNP have lost the support of people.
He made the comment while addressing as chief guest at a discussion organized by Bangladesh Janadal in city’s Paltan area on Friday (Dec 22).
Badruddoza Chowdhury said, “Jatiya Party-nominated mayoral candidate Mostafizur Rahman Mostafa won the Rangpur City Corporation (RCC) polls by a wide margin defeating both the AL and BNP nominated candidates.”
“The result proves the actual scenario. JP candidate Mostafa lost to ruling party candidate in the last polls but won the election by a landslide this time. It also proves the government rigged the election last time.”
Badruddoza also claimed that anarchy is going on in every sector along with the upward trend of daily essential products’ prices and forgery in education sector. A total of 55 people were disappeared in the last few months but only nine of them came back home. There is security of life in the country. Is this the country we all wanted?
Urging countrymen to choose politicians carefully and vote for the newly formed political alliance 'Jukta Front', he also said it is your chance to think again and elect worthy candidates instead of the corrupt ones.
