FENI: A mobile court has sentenced two youths to imprisonment on charges of illegal activities during voting at a polling station at Mahamay union of Chhagalnaiya upazila in Feni.
Judge and executive magistrate of the mobile court Sohel Rana conducted the mobile court and delivered the verdict on Thursday (December 28).
Sohel Rana told Banglanews that Amir Khan Hridoy was jailed for three days for illegal entry into the polling place, while Rezaul Karim was jailed for seven days for casting fake vote in a primary school located at north Satar area of Mahamay union.
Amid tight security measures, voting at 127 areas across the country on Thursday (December 28) is underway.
Voters of 115 Union Parishads, 9 municipalities, 2 Zilla Parishad wards and an Upazila Parishad are casting ballots for electing their representatives.
The voting began at 8:00 am.
