COX’S BAZAR: Awami League general secretary Obaidul Quader said just like the time and tide, the national election will not wait for anyone. Polls will be held in due time even if the opposition BNP don’t attend.
Quader, also the Road Transport and Bridges Minister, made the remarks while distributing relief materials in Kutupalang Rohingya camp in Ukhia upazila of Cox’s Bazar on Friday (Dec 29).
On the Rohingya issue, he said, “finally the long overdue Rohingya repatriation process is going to start. Around one lakh Rohingyas will be sent back to Myanmar in the first phase.”
After distributing relief, the minister also visited the medical camp led by Chhatra League in Balukhali Rohingya camp and distributed free medicines.
Leader of the 14-party alliance and Bangladesh Samyabadi Dal Dwilip Barua, Central AL Deputy Office Secretary Barrister Biplob Barua, local lawmaker Abdur Rahman Bodi and other senior AL leaders were also present at the event.
