Bangladesh pacer Mustafizur Rahman has been cleared by the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) to play two matches for Delhi Capitals in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL), replacing Australian opener Jake Fraser-McGurk.
BCB Director Iftekhar Ahmed Mithu confirmed the decision on Thursday, stating that Mustafizur, currently on national duty in the UAE, will join Delhi Capitals after Bangladesh’s T20I series against the UAE on May 17 and 19.
As a result, Mustafizur will miss Delhi’s match on May 18 but will be available for their final two league games against Mumbai Indians on May 21 and Punjab Kings on May 24.
Delhi Capitals, currently fifth on the IPL points table, remain in contention for the playoffs.
However, Mustafizur’s participation in the playoffs is uncertain due to Bangladesh’s T20I series against Pakistan beginning May 27.
