JAHANGIRNAGAR UNIVERSITY: A leader of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) has been suspended and declared persona non grata in the campus area at Jahangirnagar University for assaulting Chairman of Urban and Regional Planning (URP) department Professor Golam Moinuddin.

The suspended person is Mamun Khan, press and publicity secretary of JU unit BCL, the student wing of Awami League, and student of 35th batch of the same department.

The Acting Vice-Chancellor of JU MA Matin and other senior teachers of the university held a meeting on Thursday night regarding the matter where a show cause notice was issued asking Mamun to explain within 48-hour why he should not be terminated finally.

Proctor Muzibur Rahman said that the process is underway to file a case in this regard.
