SIRAJGANJ: Four people have been killed and another injured when a freight truck ploughed through a local market in Tarash upazila of Sirajganj.

The accident that took place at Khalkula Bazar set up on the side of Dhaka-Rajshahi highway on Monday morning (July 20).

The deceased are- Maynal Hossain, Milon Hossain, Alhajj Ali, and Manik Hossain.

Hatikumrul Highway police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Nurnabi Pradhan told Banglanews: “Driver of a Natore-bound rod-laden truck lost control over steering and plough the vehicle through the market, leaving two dead on the scene and several others wounded.”

On information, members of Fire Service and highway police rushed to the spot and recovered the bodies. the injured were sent to a local hospital. Two of the injured succumbed to their injuries while undergoing treatment, the OC added.
