PM returns home from Delhi Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina returns home wrapping up her four-day India tour

DHAKA: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has returned the country, wrapping up her four-day state tour to India.

The VVIP flight of Biman Bangladesh Airlines, BG-1098, carrying the prime minister and the members of her entourage landed at the Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka at 6:50 pm on Monday (April 10).

LGRD minister Khandaker Mosharraf Hossain and information minister Hasanul Haque Inu welcomed the PM in the airport.

Sheikh Hasina left New Delhi for Dhaka at 5:15 pm (4:45 pm in Indian time).

Indian state minister for heavy industries and public enterprises Babul Supriyo saw her off at Palam Station of the Indian air force. Bangladesh high commissioner to New Delhi Syed Moazzem Ali was also present during departure of the PM.

Dhaka and New Delhi signed 22 treaties during the four-day India tour. Some other documents were also signed.

The neighboring country gave highest honor to Bangladesh Prime Minister. At the fag-end of her tour, Sheikh Hasina joined a reception accorded by India Foundation.

The PM went to New Delhi on April 07 on the invitation of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

During the state-tour, Sheikh Hasina held official bilateral talks with Narendra Modi. She also called on Indian president Pranab Mukherjee and Vice-President Hamid Ansari.

President of All India National Congress Sonia Gandhi, Indian external affairs minister Sushama Swaraj and chief minister of West Bengal Mamata Mukherjee called on Sheikh Hasina.
The PM paid homage to Mahatma Gandhi, the preeminent leader of the Indian independence movement. She also visited Ajmer Sharif, the shrine of Sufi saint Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti.  

Sheikh Hasina and Narendra Modi unveiled the Hindi edition of Bangabandhu’s ‘Osmapto Atmojiboni’ (Unfinished Memoirs). They also inaugurated a road in New Delhi which was renamed after Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

Sheikh Hasina honored Indian martyrs who sacrificed during Bangladesh War of Liberation in 1971.

It was Sheikh Hasina's state-tour to India after seven years. She last paid her official visit to India in 2010.
