GAZIPUR: Terming the attack on BNP secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alalmgir as unexpected, Awami League General Secretary and also Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader said an investigation is underway and the vested quarter behind the attack will be identified.

He made the remark while inaugurating a control room of highway police in Chandra area under Kaliakair upazila of Gazipur on Wednesday morning (June 21).

In response to BNP senior joint secretary Ruhul Kabir Rizvi’s earlier remarks on the attack incident, Quader said Rizvi is political and pathological liar. Lying is what he does best.

Quader also talked about the safety of Eid home goers traveling across the country and directed drivers not to rush but to maintain traffic rules and regulations over the course of Eid al-Fitr holidays.
